McCord Rayburn concentrates his practice on U.S. and international patent preparation and prosecution, as well as patent portfolio management. He has an extremely broad base of technical experience that ranges from software, mobile devices, the field of optical sciences, and image and laser-based data collection devices to the mechanical arts, medical devices, and pharmaceuticals. McCord has developed extensive technical knowledge regarding optical-fiber design as well as manufacturing technologies related to optical fibers and fiber optic cabling.
McCord’s practice also involves the management of the international patent portfolio of the leading manufacturer of high-performance image and laser-based data collection hardware and software for the retail, healthcare, transportation, and logistics markets. Additionally, McCord prepares and prosecutes patent applications for complex mechanical devices as well as microwave instruments and microwave-assisted techniques for chemical analysis and synthesis.
McCord’s work further includes coordinating inbound U.S. national stage patent application filings for foreign corporations with international patent portfolios. McCord also prepares patentability opinions and counsels clients in various aspects of intellectual property, including trademark and copyright registrations.
McCord completed extensive coursework in the areas of both theoretical and experimental physics while earning his undergraduate degree at Washington and Lee University.
